Members of The Japan Society for Lymphoreticular
Tissue Research
Inclusion of "Journal of Clinical
and Experimental Hematopathology (JCEH)" in the electronic archives
and handling of copyrights
The Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST), an independent organization,
which has been compiling past important academic journals in the paper
medium in an archival form since fiscal 2006, selected "JCEH",
the official publication of the Japan Society for Lymphoreticular Tissue
Research, to be included in the academic journals for their electronic
archives starting in fiscal 2009. Thus "JCEH" from volumes 1
to 44, the latter having been published in 2004, will be in the electronic
archives and the public will be able to view the articles on the Internet
(It has already been in electronic form since volumes 45).
Consequently, the need arises to obtain approval from the original authors
on the exercise of their copyrights, in particular reproduction rights
and rights for public transmission. Unfortunately, it is nearly impossible
to inform all the original authors on this matter and obtain their approval
for all the articles going back to the first issue of "JCEH".
Facing this situation, we ask for your approval on the exercise of reproduction
and other rights by JST through this announcement. The copyrights for
the publications of the Japan Society for Lymphoreticular Tissue Research
from the initial edition to Volume 44, No. 2 (published in 2004) belonged
to the original authors. Therefore we seek approval for this change from
the authors of the articles published during this period.
If any of the authors or those having succession rights to the articles
that have been published during the period of electronic archival preparation
(as described above) object to this change, please submit your objection
in writing to the executive office of the society by January 31, 2009.
We will arrange to exclude the articles in question from the electronic
archives. We hope that you will cooperate in disseminating this information
to all those involved.
Sincerely,
Mitsunori Yamakawa
Editor-in-Chief, JCEH
